Information security provider Trustwave, was recently honored with the Data Security Award by the European Card Acquiring Forum (ECAF).
Focused on appliance deployment, payment services providers, solution providers and secure systems provider, the Data Security Award recognizes companies who excel in security with their products, and is based on merchant satisfaction and fraud rates.
Trustwave’s solution, TrustKeeper, supports merchant compliance through appliance deployment and facilitates Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI (News - Alert) DSS) compliance validation. A requirement in the payment card industry, PCI DSS is endorsed by all major credit card brands such as Visa, MasterCard and American Express (News - Alert).
"Smaller merchants are the least aware of their risk and the most in need of assistance in understanding and navigating the complex security requirements of the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). The Trustwave solution supports a wide variety of merchant types, ranging from a small e-commerce store, a restaurant chain with multiple locations, and a retailer with both physical presence and web sales, etc. The challenge was to create one-size-fits-all program for PCI DSS compliance," says Leon Dhaene, chairman of the Guiding Hand Awards, in a press release.
“We're honored to be recognized for our innovative technology, and we will continue to keep an open dialogue and provide thought leadership to the European card community," said Andy Bokor, executive director, EMEA and APAC at Trustwave.
The model of Trustwave can easily be compared to an appliance deployment one, as they are supported by a Security Operations Center (SOC) on a round-the-clock basis. Appliance, as defined by Gartner (News - Alert), is a “computing entity that delivers predefined services through an applications-specific interface.” Through a secure Web portal, clients view their real-time system status and configuration, submit and track change requests and trouble tickets and generate custom reports.
In other appliance deployment news, TMCnet’s Jamie Epstein reported on appliance deployment solutions provider NEI’s recent win of the 2010 Internet Telephony Product of the Year Award. NEI’s (News - Alert) N-2710 NEBS Level 3- Certified DC-powered server “is the first and only NEBS Level 3-certified solution built on the Dell PowerEdge R710 server and enhanced for use by communications providers.”
Through appliance deployment, the N-2710 makes the delivery of communications solutions and services drastically decrease in cost, reduces time to market by an average of more than 28 weeks, and cuts the amount of additional resources needed by more than 50 percent.
