FireScope's Unify Acclerates Appliance Deployment, as Well as Offers Converged Management and Automation Features for FlexPod

May 23, 2011

FireScope (News - Alert), a provider of solutions that transition customer’s technology performance to both business and customer experiences, has just unveiled FireScope Unify for FlexPod. This solution offers a simple way to both manage and automate the complete FlexPod for VMware stack from a single interface, thus allowing for rapid appliance deployment.

Officials with FireScope said that the new capability enables consolidation of management of FlexPod powered cloud initiatives through direct API access for service-view dashboards, and for time to market for the appliance to be greatly reduced.

FireScope Unify can either be shipped as a virtual or physical appliance, with the complete solution pre-installed and ready to use. This greatly cuts deployment time to a few days, instead of the months usually needed by other traditional solutions.

Rapid deployment and automation in configuration are crucial tools that enterprises require to fully and successfully manage current cloud infrastructures. The speed of deployment of new virtual machines, storage volumes and applications continues to cause organizations' to increase their abilities in managing these resources after they enter the production stage. FireScope Unify's ability to identify new resources as the changes happen is helping IT operations maintain a higher level of agility throughout the application lifecycle.

According to a press release, the foundation of the solution is an HTML5/Canvas visualization of a FlexPod for VMware, which takes advantage of direct API access to the NetApp Filers, Cisco (News - Alert) Unified Computing System (UCS) blades and VMware vSphere to provide unparalleled visibility into health and utilization across domains.

"Cloud initiatives are driven by the business needs that include greater agility for business units and the services they provide, reducing the cost and time to deliver those services to their customers and leveraging their competitive advantages," said Steve Cotton, CEO of FireScope, in a statement. “With this in mind, it is imperative to execute cloud initiatives to deliver relevant business outcomes such as gaining market share or your businesses response to a competitive threat."

"FireScope's speed of deployment allows us to provide a comprehensive cloud solution rapidly addressing the technology and operational needs of our customers," said Wintosin Po, managing director RTP.

Po added that this gives RTP Technology a competitive advantage in time to value and confidence for the customers, as they can now be assured that their business services are highly available.
