Why Appliance Deployment Life Cycle Management is Crucial for Ongoing Success

It makes no difference if telecom providers are deciding to deploy their appliances within a physical, virtual or cloud deployment; they are all required to manage these products in the long run, and this can be a major challenge to some.


Jeff Hudgins (News - Alert), vice president of marketing for NEI, was featured in a recent video in which he stated, “If you don’t have the right long-term strategy to manage, monitor and maintain your application, you can easily erode profits.”

The company’s Image Manager acts as a disaster recovery plan that will get things up and running in a small period of time if the appliance isn’t working properly. In addition, the NEI Update Service is comprised of an innovative toolset that allows users to remotely deliver applications, OS and other software updates across all types of deployments.

Moreover, due to NEI’s patented digital fingerprint technology, “updates are securely distributed and authenticated. “NEI’s service eliminates the pain and cost of updating Linux and Windows operating systems, as well as any applications residing on the network -- whether connected or not.” 

Customers can utilize the Hosted Update service to load and build change sets as well as approve changes before allowing appliances in the field to download updates. Although updates are approved, a backup of software is stored automatically to ensure that quick recovery can be reached if a failure occurs.

NEI’s 5-Point Lead System can offer users unparalleled benefits. Hudgins concluded, “Our application management capabilities are second to none and provide a key competitive advantage.
